About the industrial piercing
An industrial (also called a scaffold) is two holes, usually a forward helix and an outer helix, connected by one long barbell. Both holes have to line up exactly so the bar sits straight without pulling on either side.
Not every ear can take a straight bar comfortably. We check how your helix folds and test the line with a marker before piercing. If your anatomy won't work, we'll say so and suggest a better alternative.

What to expect at your appointment
We mark both points, check the line with you in the mirror, then make two quick piercings with a single-use needle and fit the barbell. The whole thing takes a few minutes.
Every appointment includes a free consultation, and every piercing is done with a sterile, single-use needle. We never use piercing guns, and every tool is autoclave-sterilized and individually pouched.
Healing & aftercare
Industrials get irritated by sleeping on them and by snags from hair and hats. Clean both holes with sterile saline, keep pressure off, and don't swap the bar early. Bumps usually mean it's being knocked or pressed.
Full step-by-step instructions are in our piercing aftercare guide. If anything looks off while it's healing, call or text us. Checkups are free.
Industrial piercing FAQ
How much is an industrial piercing?
$60 for both points and the implant-grade barbell.
How long does an industrial take to heal?
Typically 9–12 months, since it's two cartilage piercings healing at once.
Is my ear right for an industrial?
It depends on how your upper ear folds. We'll check during your free consultation and only pierce it if the bar will sit straight.
Why is my industrial bumpy?
Most bumps come from pressure, sleeping on it, or a bar that doesn't fit your anatomy. Stop by and we'll take a look.
