About the daith piercing
The daith goes through the inner fold of cartilage right above the ear canal. It's hard to reach and angle correctly, so experience and anatomy-based placement matter more here than for most piercings.
Daith piercings are almost always worn with a ring: a seamless ring or clicker that sits snug in the curve. We size the starter ring to allow for swelling and fit a snugger one once it's healed.
Placement options
What to expect at your appointment
We look at how deep and thick your inner fold is to make sure a daith suits your ear, then pierce with a curved approach using a single-use needle. It takes a few seconds and feels like firm pressure.
Every appointment includes a free consultation, and every piercing is done with a sterile, single-use needle. We never use piercing guns, and every tool is autoclave-sterilized and individually pouched.
Healing & aftercare
Clean with sterile saline, using the spray to rinse into the fold. Don't rotate the ring. Earbuds in that ear will press on it, so use the other ear while it heals.
Full step-by-step instructions are in our piercing aftercare guide. If anything looks off while it's healing, call or text us. Checkups are free.
Daith piercing FAQ
How much is a daith piercing?
$60, including implant-grade starter jewelry. Gold and decorative clickers are available in studio.
Does a daith piercing help with migraines?
There's no reliable medical evidence that a daith piercing treats migraines, and we won't promise that it does. Get it because you like how it looks.
How long does a daith take to heal?
Typically 6–9 months. Cartilage can look healed before it really is, so keep up aftercare for the full period.
Is my ear right for a daith?
Most ears are, but the inner fold varies in size and depth. Your piercer will check during the free consultation before your piercing.
